During one of the few snows to date, the 34th Annual St. Brigid Mass took place at the South Hills Country Club on February 2, 2020.  Hosted by LAOH Allegheny County Board served by Father Harry Nichols, with gifts provided by St. Anne Parish, attendees enjoyed the exquisite music of Jim Lamb.  Presentation of the St. Brigid Gifts were offered by LAOH Junior Division 23 and the mass ended with all present singing a heartfelt Lady of Knock.

Lunch followed beginning with singing National Athems – A Soldiers Song and Star Spangled Banner.  Father Harry Nichols blessed the meal.   Eileen O’Malley, Allegheny County President, began the Program welcoming all.  Sharon McGrath was honored as the 2020 St. Brigid during the Presentation of St. Brigid’s Court by Melissa Rossiter.  Sharon delivered a inspirational heartfelt thank you.

Colleen Bowers, National Office of Missions and Charities, oversaw the Installation of President’s as well as the Installation and passing of the Gavel to and Eileen O’Malley, Allegheny County President.  PA State Secretary, and Past Allegheny County President, Kathleen Diulus, also attended mass and the program.

Closing remarks ended the event as LAOH women and guests were amply stirred by the mass, the music, the program and the general air of celebration of St. Brigid on a  winter’s morn.
